Crochet-A-Day: Easy Crochet Hacky Sack - ericksonstivider
For our next project in our Crochet-A-Sidereal day serial publication, I have the cover girl Heidi of Hands Occupied sharing a fabulous amigurumi eccentric-traffic pattern for an Easy Crochet Hacky Firing. You'll want to make one and try your "groundwork" at the game of Hacky Net!
Easy Crochet Hacky Shift
A crochet hacky sack is and so addictive to make! They're likewise a great way to learn how to do crochet increases and decreases. I have big plans for this pattern, folks. If I've got a teenage male child to make something for, I can whip up one or 2 crochet hacky sacks in his favorite colours for a not-lame handmade gift (a miracle!). If I've got friends with an active bambino in penury of a toy, or a kid who might like a set of trio to juggling with, I'll know exactly what to whip skyward. Did I mention you can cook one of these in about an hour?
Supplies:
- worsted weight yarn (I used Sugar'n Cream Twists in Denim Twists & Rose Twists.)
- sized H crochet hook
- stitch marker (facultative)
- dried-out beans, plastic filling OR popcorn (eminence:if making this for a baby, make true to use batting instead of something they mightiness sup)
- scissors
Abbreviations
st/sts – stitch/stitches
atomic number 21 – single stitch
sc2tog – single stitch 2 together
Pattern for Amigurumi Crochet Hacky Give the axe
Round 1: Give a foundation row with 6 sts using the magic ring method. Optional, just extremely recommended: Place a stitch marker at the beginning of the round, moving it to the first-year run up of each new fill out as you go.
Barrel-shaped 2: 2 sc in each st roughly (12 sts)
Round 3: 2 scandium in incoming st, sc in succeeding st around (18 sts)
Disk-shaped 4: 2 sc in next st, sc in close 2 sts more or less (24 sts)
Wheel-like 5: 2 scandium in future st, sc in succeeding 3 sts around (30 sts)
Rounds 6-13*. sc around (30 sts)
Round 14: sc2tog, sc in next 3 sts or so (24 sts)
Start filling with your beans/popcorn/filling.
Disk-shaped 15: sc2tog, sc in next 2 sts around (18 sts)
Round 16: sc2tog, sc in adjacent st around (12 sts)
If needful, top your hacky sack's dressing.
Round 17: sc2tog until the open end is closed enough to tie off.
Weave in ends, concealment the tails inner the ball.
*That's 8 total rounds of just sc, FYI! :)
The beginning ring will calculate slightly open, as you can see in the top cardinal finished hacky sacks portrayed below. The finishing end of your hacky sacks leave look more sealed, like the two connected the bottom row. Don't worry – I played around with my through hacky sacks filled with popcorn a bunch and didn't have some issues with losing my popcorn kernel pick.
See? Make matchless or two of these and you'll have that pattern memorized to pull out for those times when you need a handmade gift right now. With literally over a twelve pregnant friends at the import, I've abandoned my hope to make each bundle of joyousness its own blanket. I think some quick baby toys are in order!
